THE Royal British Legion (RBL)
at Byng House, on The Promenade, Southport, have taken delivery of a brand new
bus. Following months of fund fundraising, this specially designed bus will help
them take members, both local and visiting, to and from events. Hollie Webster,
Entertainment Coordinator for Byng House said:- "We have finally got our
new bus. We would like to thank everyone who helped raise funds to get it. It
was fantastic to see as it as it arrived on 26 April 2016. As we got the first
glimpse of it heading down the road to us, the rain stopped and the sun came
out. It's fully marked up with our logos and even our address on it! We hope
that this vehicle will do just that for years to come, putting a shine on
everyone's faces who use it." The silver Versa, designed by Optare, in
Leeds, is fitted out with many applications and offers lots of features, from
specially designed layout to brand new cameras that will improve safety, comfort
and reliability. It's now hoped that the new bus will help the Legion's break
centre offer its guests and local branch member lots more urban and countryside
outings. If you see it passing, please do give them a wave!
