We are asking:- "What
are the views tourists have of Southport?"
NEXT week we will be looking at the impressions that tourists have when they visit Southport. This question has become a huge issue in the Town's political forum, both within the local and the national election rhetoric, when discussing Southport and the local area. Will the image that the political world sees, and one depicted in our photograph, be that of tourists or something different? One family, visiting from Leeds, who we have asked, told us that:- "We are not shocked to see that so many shops have closed down, plus we are not surprised to see a mass of mobile phone shops. It seems to be the case all over the UK. Southport looks nice, but we are only here for the day, so we can't really comment." We are shocked to see how run down the Town now looks. However, the people are still friendly and we also had some fantastic fish and chips from the take-a-way. "We are shocked to see how run down the Town now looks.
