Capstan's Bazaar - Southport
ON Easter Saturday, 4 April 2015, the Atkinson, on Lord Street, Southport, played host to the Capstan's Bazaar, an arts and craft market. This was the 2nd time that the event has been held within the newly refurbished Atkinson. It appeared to go down well with both locals and tourists alike, even though most of those attending appeared to be from the local area. On offer were many very interesting of craft items, ranging from photos and ink drawings to knitted pictures. Some of them were created by art students who had just graduated. One of the students, who was still at University, told us that she was in-between semesters, on her final year at University. She was using this event, and others like, it to help fund herself; she had made her jewellery pieces whilst she was completing her dissertation. It was not all art crafts, for the event has some very sweet local honey on offer. The stall holder explained to us how it was produced within the Centre of Liverpool. Who would have thought honey bees could produce such delicious honey in a City Centre? To find out more about the Capstan's Bazaar, go to the groups'
