Liverpool
Pride 2017 Photographs by Patrick Trollope.
THE Liverpool Pride 2017 took place over 29 July to 30
July 2017, in Liverpool City Centre and was a massive hit yet again. If you do
not know the background, the annual event was started to remember gay teenager
Michael Causer, who was murdered in 2008. Despite the sad circumstances of its
background, the event offers yearly a vibrant and colourful event, which is
always guaranteed to deliver an amazing celebratory atmosphere. The event
included an annual parade through the City Centre along with plenty of
entertainment and music. This year's event was no exception to the rule. Despite
it being seen as the City's LGBT+ community, in fact it is far more than that as
its focus is to include all minority groups who are traditionally ostracized by
society, such as the Gothic community. Headline music acts this year included:-
Atomic Kitten, Marc Almond, Kym Mazelle, Marcus Collins, Austin Armacost and a
number of the UK's top DJ's. Plus it was free to attend and with lots of
activities for all ages! This year also had an interesting new addition to the
build up to the event, when many of the City and Merseyside landmarks were lit
up at night in rainbow colours. Sadly we missed most of this year's event, but
what we got to see was fantastic. We would love to know your thoughts about this
event and also see any photographs you might have taken. Email your thoughts
