Gig Review:- "The Vamps,
plus guests - Luke Friend The Tide and Union J in Liverpool" Photographs and text in
this review are by Jo
Forrest.
THEY started life on Youtube quickly
making a name for themselves and gathering a huge following and on Tuesday, 28
April 2015, they preformed at the Liverpool ACC. To date, the Vamps have amassed
a staggering 73,000,000 views on their youtube channel and a huge following of
3,000,000 on Facebook. Unusual for a group that has not started life on the
X-Factor of some other such reality show.
The 4 lads were supported by Luke Friend and
The Tide who are the 1st band to be signed to The Vamps own record label and
Union J who were their special guests. The Tide and Union J, both put on
excellent performances, but I was at a loss as to why Luke Friend was there to
only perform 1 song.
The 12,000 packed into the Liverpool Arena and
the crowd went ballistic as they bounded onto stage with Wildheart. As the
evening progresses each member of the band is shown on the big screen in their
own small video, talking about family, friends, their pets and then the audience
is treated to a solo from each of them. The most impressive being Tristan who is
raised up 50ft high on a platform to perform his solo whilst being treated to an
incredible light display.
It did feel a little short lasting around
80mins and this included the video breaks for each member. Despite this these
boys know how to put on a good show, it was an energetic set, hugely
entertaining with lots of pyrotechnics, and some excellent lighting. Super fan
Jess who has seen the boys a staggering 20 times was also brought up onto the
stage..!
