Ian Anderson
2014 tour
AFTER 2 magic years on the
road with the Thick As A Brick shows, legendary Prog Rock icon Ian
Anderson embarks upon a UK tour, following the release of his new
concept album 'Homo Erraticus' in April 2014.
The 22 date UK tour kicks off in late April, before moving on to
Europe and the US. The show will feature Homo Erraticus; an
'epic voyage into the Progressive Rock pantheon of strangeness'
according to Anderson; in its entirety followed after the
intermission by a collection of the artist's favourite Tull
classics. The performance will be illustrated and complemented by
video and theatrical settings 'to bring a tear to the eye',
an enthusiastic Anderson declared.
Following the astonishing success of his 'Thick As A Brick'
tour; including a one off performance at the iconic Royal Albert
Hall; tickets for the 2014 shows are expected to go fast. An
opportunity not to be missed for any Prog addict out there to check
out Ian's latest work, visit Memory Lane once more and enjoy a
majestic, unforgettable show.

Whizz-Kidz says
thanks to volunteers who support disabled youngsters to get
independent
A national charity that
supports young disabled people get independent and active in
Merseyside is celebrating its volunteers; and calling for more local
people to get involved.
In 2013, volunteers raised thousands of pounds for Whizz-Kidz; a
charity which provides young disabled people with vital powered
mobility equipment, wheelchair skills training, youth clubs and work
placements.
Whizz-Kidz Volunteer Manager, Diana Langford, said:- "There
are a variety of ways in which people can get involved with Whizz-Kidz,
including store and street collecting, volunteering in schools, and
supporting young people at fun clubs, camps and wheelchair skills
sessions. All of these opportunities help us support thousands of
disabled youngsters each year get the freedom they need to lead
active and fun childhoods. Becoming a Whizz-Kidz volunteer can also
build confidence and self esteem; making a difference and making new
friends whilst improving career opportunities."
A glowing exhample of this is Geoff's story. Geoff Madeley has given
up his time over 20 years to fundraise for Whizz-Kidz in the north
west of England. In 2013, Geoff has raised £1,300; enough to provide
a place for a disabled child at a local club for a whole year;
helping them feel less isolated and learn skills to boosts their
confidence and self esteem.
Geoff said:- "My volunteering journey started after my
daughter, Ruth, received her 1st wheelchair from Whizz-Kidz when she
was 5. My wife and I were in awe of the work Whizz-Kidz does and we
have remained involved ever since. I have thoroughly enjoyed
fundraising for Whizz-Kidz."
Regional fundraiser for North West , Emma Jones said:-
"Without people like Geoff we simply cannot deliver all of the
skills clubs or run schemes that support young disabled people with
the freedom to just be kids!"
