Statement about the Browne V Haumonu Situation
Photograph by Mark Robinson/Hatton Promotions.

HATTON Promotions would like to clarify reports that unbeaten heavyweight Lucas "Big Daddy" Browne has pulled out of a proposed fight with former Rugby League star Solomon Haumono.

"While negotiations with Haumono's team have taken place, the fight was never finalised.

Hatton Promotions' Australian representatives have been informed by Main Event Pay Per View that the bout could be given PPV status in the near future, but a suggested date of 3 April 2014 isn't suitable as the network's schedule is already fully booked.

As such, we feel that a Browne v Haumono fight should take place at a time which is more financially beneficial to all parties concerned.

However, it must be stressed that Haumono is just one of the options available to Browne at this time.

Following his stunning 5th round stoppage of England's Richard Towers in November 2014, Lucas is the only boxer guaranteed a shot at the Commonwealth title vacated by David Price.

It is Lucas' intention to become the 1st Australian heavyweight to win the Commonwealth belt in almost a century and a number of big name boxers remain on his wish list, including Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora."

Nuclear power stations quote from Chris Davies MEP

CHRIS Davies, an MEP for the North West England and the Liberal Democrat environment spokesman in the European Parliament, welcomed the announcement and said:- "The majority of our nuclear and our coal power stations are coming to the end of their lives and must be replaced. New nuclear plants have a role to play if we are to keep the lights on and also to generate electriCity without releasing CO2 into the atmosphere It's true that the problem of nuclear waste is not yet resolved, but there is no perfect energy solution and the problem of out of control climate change is even greater This power station could bring thousands of jobs particularly to west Cumbria but also to other areas in the North West. These workers will have the environmental and safety concerns of their communities at heart."
