Father Christmas
at St Georges Hall, Liverpool
AN exciting experience for
children is on offer at the Heritage Centre in the beautiful St.
Georges' Hall, Liverpool, which has invited Father Christmas to its
grotto, a new venture begun this year. It commenced on Saturday, 23
November and Sunday, 24 November 2013. It is evident that a great
deal of effort has gone into this imaginative project, although what
previous visitors of these rooms would have made of it all is too
much to comprehend. Tableaux such as Winter Wonderland and Santa's
Workshop are set in niches, figures including large wooden soldiers
stand guard along the corridors whilst reindeer are seen flying
amongst the superstructure and between the floors. So although
waiting time to reach Father Christmas may sound rather long when
obtaining the ticket. There is plenty to occupy children and many
friendly fairies with elves to chat to en route. Our 2 small
researchers aged 3 and 1 were intrigued and other children seemed
clearly pleased with their experience. Why not take your family
along to see this novel grotto; it has much to recommend it. The
entrance fee applies only to children and includes a present for
each child. Accompanying adults may enjoy it all for free! For more
information go to:-

It is each Saturday, 30 November 2013 and Sunday, 1 December 2013
plus Saturday, 7 December 2013 and Sunday, 8 December 2013 from 10am
to 5pm (last entry 4pm) every day from and 14 December to 23
December 2013 between 10am and 5pm with Last Entry at 4pm. Also to
enjoy are Christmas Markets at the St George's Hall and in Church
and Lord Streets. In Liverpool One as well there are the usual
decorations and entertainments. All well worth visiting.
