Chic Networking
to hold 1st networking event
CHIC Networking will hold
their 1st networking event on Sunday, 1 December 2013, from 2pm, in
Liverpool City Centre. The event, which will be held at The Hilton,
will bring together some of Liverpool's independent businesses. The
independent business community is small in stature compared to its
large branded counterparts however; the division is easily
noticeable and Chic Networking was formulated to combat the
diversity making smaller businesses up in the market.
During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to mix and
mingle with bloggers, models, fashion industry, local businesses and
magazine executives, photographers, independent designers and event
coordinators. The networking event will feature a business card
exchange, a runway show, a shopping experience and the opportunity
to speak to PR and marketing companies about expanding their
businesses. "Chic Networking is a great opportunity to give smaller independent
businesses and its supporters the opportunity to learn more about
each other and unite a community. Supporting one another by bringing
the public a lot of hidden businesses all under one roof and opening
these up gaining exposure and custom to companies that may not have
the means to do it themselves in this tough climate . That is the
purpose of Chic Networking, unity from the top down." said
Lauren Greene, Event Coordinator and Director of Chic Networking.

Tackling level
crossing safety on Merseyside
OVER 2013 the British
Transport Police had joined up Network Rail to combat the high level
of crossing accidents and also to tackle trespassing on railway
property. Shockingly Merseyside has the 11th most dangerous crossing
in the UK, located in Birkdale. This week the CCTV van was sited
though in Freshfield on another hotspot, on the road down to the
National Trust Reserve, know as Victoria Road. Shockingly it is not
just cars that run the lights as pedestrians are also ignoring the
dangers and seem un-aware of the potential dangers if jumping over
the level crossing barriers. "It is hard to believe that so
many people are prepared to put their life, and those of others, at
risk. They do so simply just to save a few seconds at level
crossings. This crossing for example even has a footbridge, yet
people have been seen hopping over the crossing and walking over it
when the barriers are down. With approximate 54,000 Merseyrail
trains pass over the crossing it is lucky no serious accidents have
happened recently." A staff member on the station told us.
So be aware, if taking of taking sort cuts, as even if you do get
across with your life, all the crossing have CCTV on them and now
some, like this one, you might just find you are on the van's CCTV
as well. If you do get spotted, beware that you are not just risking
your life and the lives of other, but you might also be fined!
