ALFIE BOE 2014
UK ARENA TOUR ANNOUNCED
YES,,, you read it correct,
that
Alfie
Boe will be appearing at
Echo Arena Liverpool on 30 November 2014!!! Alfie Boe has
moved further away from his traditional operatic repertoire on
'Trust' the follow up to 2012's hugely successful
'Storyteller' and has never sounded so coolly contemporary.
Working with legendary producer Larry Klein, Alfie applies his
extraordinary voice to a soulful set of country and blues, folk and
gospel, standards and originals such as, 'Georgia On My Mind',
'You've Got A Friend' and 'Glory, Glory
Hallelujah.'
This was influenced by his most recent UK concert dates, where the
repertoire drew on the full range of Boe's musical interests, from
pop to rock to classical to musical theatre.
Over the sold out run of the Storyteller tour, which included 2
nights at London's Royal Albert Hall, Boe played to almost 80,000
fans. Given UK album sales of well over 1 million and three Top 10
album, the tour was a triumphant cap to his career, so far.
That's not all Alfie continues to impress, stealing the show at last
summer's Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace and then releasing his
best selling autobiography 'My Story.' Not content
with just music, Boe is stretching out in other ways too. He's
previously starred on Broadway in film director Baz Luhrmann's
acclaimed staging of La Bohème. But this autumn he makes his acting
debut. In the upcoming second series of ITV's hit period drama Mr
Selfridge, Boe appears as a tenor named Richard Chapman. In the 1914
- set show, he plays a crucial role in one of the storylines in the
series about the founder of the eponymous London department store.
His new tour will see Alfie Boe draw upon his new album and previous
repertoire.

COMEDIAN RUSSELL
BRAND TO EMBARK ON HIS 1ST EVER WORLD TOUR BRAND'S "THE MESSIAH
COMPLEX" COMING SOON!
THE UK comedian, actor and
author, Russell Brand announces his 1st ever world stand up tour and
will be visiting The Auditorium at the Arena Liverpool on 12
December 2013, 15 February 2014, and the newly announced date of 16
February 2014. Keeping in line with Brand's comedic style, the tour,
officially named "Messiah Complex", will be a
dissection of various social and religious figures and the reality
of their lives through comparisons of each other. Messiah Complex is
a mental disorder where you think you might be the messiah. Did
Jesus have it? What about Che Guevara, Gandhi, Malcolm X and Hitler?
All these men have shaped our lives and influenced the way we think.
Their images are used to represent ideas that often do not relate to
them at all. Would Gandhi be into apple? Would Che Guevara endorse
Madonna? Would Jesus be into Christianity? All great people are
flawed, all of us, flawed people are capable of greatness and for
every identifiable icon there is an anonymous mob of unrecognized
bods doing all the admin and heavy lifting. This show looks at the
importance of heroes in this age of atheistic disposability. Plus
there's sex. Obviously.
Brand states:- "I am going to tour The World (our one, Earth)
with Messiah Complex, causing bother and excitement and offering
opinions that have not been either solicited or thought through. Of
course I'll be in English speaking countries (UK, Ireland, US,
Canada) but also Scandinavia, Russia, Israel, Lebanon, Palestine;
anywhere that will have me to be honest and that are relaxed about
free speech. As well as theatres I will be appearing in prisons,
drug rehabs, social network HQs, universities, nationalist
organisations, Mosques, foreclosed houses, protest sites, Synagogues
and in people's private homes. I dedicate this Messiah Complex tour
to the four men that are it's subject, Che Guevara, Gandhi, Malcolm
X and Jesus; I know this is what they would have wanted. If this is
the end of the world I'm going to go out laughing with an erection."
If you do not know who he is, well.... Russell begin his career as a
stand-up comedian, Brand rose to fame in the UK for his "Big
Brother" spin-off, "Big Brother's Big Mouth."
He launched his 1st nationwide tour:- 'Shame' ('Russell
Brand ~ Live' for DVD), in 2006 and followed it up with his
2nd nationwide tour 'Russell Brand - Only Joking'
('Russell Brand - Doin' Life' for DVD) in 2007.
Russell Brand shot to fame in the US in 2008 when he was seen as
rocker 'Aldous Snow' in the Judd Apatow produced
comedies:- 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' and 'Get
Him to the Greek.' He brought his stand-up tour:-
'Russell Brand - Scandalous', to the US in 2009. Brand was
recently seen as the host of his own late night talk show:-
"Brand X" and can soon be seen in Diablo Cody's directorial
debut 'Paradise'. Brand's other film credits include:-
'Rock of Ages', 'Arthur', 'Bedtime
Stories' and 'The Tempest'. Also an acclaimed
author, Brand has written 2 books:- "My Booky Wook ~ A Memoir
of Sex, Drugs and Stand-Up" which was on The New York Times
best-seller list for 5 weeks in a row, and the follow up:- "Booky
Wook 2 ~ This Time It's Personal."
